Description
Kuranda Rail, SkyRail and Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park
Experience the contrast of the region's oldest and most unique picturesque railway and the world's most beautiful cableway. You will be collected from your hotel and then transferred to Freshwater Station where you will meet your hostess for the day.
Once aboard the train, sit back and enjoy the spectacular views as you journey through 15 hand cut tunnels and past spectacular waterfalls on your way to Kuranda. The train departs Freshwater Station at 8.50 am and arrives at Kuranda at 10.10 am. When you arrive at the delightful village of Kuranda, you have an hour and a half of free time to do some of your own exploring, providing an opportunity to visit the local Kuranda Heritage Markets.
After exploring the town, your hostess will meet you at the Skyrail with your tickets for the gondola. Enjoy the most stunning cableway above the rainforest canopy - one of the world's most beautiful rainforest experiences!
You will have the option of hopping off en route at 2 stations, where you can enjoy a walk through the rainforest to lookouts with amazing views. You can also visit the CSIRO Interpretive Centre at Barron Falls Station to discover more about the special plants and animals that inhabit this unique environment.
The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway journey arrives back at Caravonica where you continue to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Here you will enjoy an amazing buffet lunch. Afterwards you have ample time to explore all the attractions of Tjapukai - movie theatres, stage shows, craft demonstrations, the Aboriginal village and of course, the famous Tjapukai Dance Troupe.
At the end of the day you will board your coach for the return to your hotel.
Enjoy your day knowing we have taken care of all the details!
