Description
Experience the thrill and adventure, first hand, of an aerobatic flight in the Red Baron. The adrenaline rush, the roller-coaster of thrills high above Sydney! Your experienced pilot will strap you in to your open air cockpit, ready for loops, barrel rolls, hammer head turns, wingovers & half loops.
When you arrive at the Red Baron Head Quarters, Bankstown, you put on your flight suit and prepare to board. You will be strapped in securely to the open air cockpit of the Pitts Special S2A aerobatic bi-securely by your experienced pilot. Fasten your headphones and flight helmet and make sure someone takes a photo - there will be plenty of time for your family and friends to take the photos of you as you prepare for your flight.
Before take off, you'll be able to speak to your pilot through the intercom and hear all the calls to the air traffic control. Once airborne you will head west towards the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. Over St Mary's in the designated training area- you will climb to 1,000 - 1,200 metres. At first you will start with some basic maneuvers like loops, wingovers, barrel rolls, and hammer head turns. This will get you into the swing of things! Your pilot may also treat you to some inverted flight flying upside down and to a hesitation roll, a four point roll where you pause and fly straight ahead at each quarter turn. At all times you can speak to your pilot - who will explain each maneuver as you go through it.
As soon as you are comfortable with the basics your pilot will move onto some thrilling aerobatic combination maneuvers - like a Roll Off The Top, a half loop followed by a half roll and a Split S, the reverse of the Roll off the Top a half roll followed by a half loop. Perhaps some three-dimensional figure eights - Cuban Eights and reverse Cuban Eights. The experience of G forces of anywhere between +6G and -3G, alternatively being pushed into your seat or pulled hard against your harness will be exhilerating.
It doesn't end there - after a couple of spins your pilot will put all these elements together into an adrenaline inducing sequence of the type used in competition.
Don't forget all these aerobatic maneuvers were developed during WWI, where fighter pilots like Baron Von Richtoffen and other flying aces performed these complicated aerial moves to avoid being shot down in deadly dog fights.
Experience the adrenalin thrill yourself or give a friend a surprise gift!
