The Grand Bar and Brasserie of Bowral has won the category of Best Casual Dining Venue (previously known as Best Restaurant, Country) in NSW at the annual Australian Hotels Association Awards for Excellence.
This award has now been awarded to The Grand an unprecedented six times (1992, 1993, 1999, 2002, 2005 and now 2006). The Grand has been named as a finalist every year since 1992.

Description
The Brasserie Restaurant
The Grand Bar and Brasserie's award winning restaurant is located in Bowral's historic Grand Hotel building. The original hotel was built in the 1880s, but its interior was completely refurbished in the 1980s. The restaurant provides fine dining in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.The Food
The cuisine is modern Australian, with a creative flare. Excellent produce is available in the Southern Highlands and only the freshest ingredients are used.The menu changes seasonally to incorporate the fresh local produce, with both a full dinner and lunch menu (full details click on the 'Full Menu' button) available. Weekly blackboard specials will entice you with new flavours and fresh seafood.
The Winter lunch menu has a wide range of exciting dishes, including toasted open Turkish sandwiches with smoked salmon, garlic spiced chicken or chargrilled chorizo sausage, all served with roast vegetable salad. Other dishes include white wine steamed asparagus, hoi sin pork rissoles, wild mushroom beef stroganoff, beef burger and bacon, spinach and ricotta cannelloni and porterhouse steak with pan fried prawns.
Prices range from $12.50 for the Turkish sandwiches to only $16.90 for the porterhouse with prawns - unbelievable value! All the extras on the dinner menu are also on the lunch menu.
The Winter dinner menu includes a number of entrees and desserts. For the main meals, choose from plum marinated duck breast, char grilled sirloin steak, stuffed spatchcock, lemon pepper sole or Moroccan style lamb and vegetable tagine. Extras include damper, fries, salad and steamed vegetables.
Children are welcome and we have a special kids menu available (see 'Full Menu').

There is no surcharge for Sundays or public holidays.

Outside dining
During the day, the Grand's al fresco area in Wingecarribee Street provides a great spot to enjoy a delicious light lunch from the bar.
