Description
The atmosphere evoked at the River Tea House comes from the simple beauty that flows from the ancient ritual of tea. More than 100 varieties of tea to choose from. Tea varieties for sale include Caramel Rooibos, Licore Root & Peppermint, Rosehip, Hibiscus, Herbal Chai and Golden Monkey. There is also a variety of gourmet produce for sale.
The River Tea House is open 7 days and is situated on the banks of the Erskine River and on the Great Ocean Road next to the Erskine River Trading Company.
Enjoy wholesome breakfasts and lunches, cakes, coffee and the best scones on the Great Ocean Road. We do both savory and sweet (eg chocolate) scones - a favourite is our wholemeal date and walnut scone.
We have great organic sourdough toast - plain, fruit or olive (with jam or marmalade) and organic muesli. Popular brunch meals include our sourdough toast with creamy fetta, topped with avocado and tomato and our sourdough fruit toast with ricotta cheese, topped with mixed dried fruit and nuts.
Popular items on the lunch menu include soup of the day, , Juliet's roast veggie salad topped with creamy fetta, pasties, Black Angus steak pie, Rusty's homemade Thai chicken sausage roll, and Bruchetta with tomato, avocado and fetta. We also served great toasted sandwiches.
Gluten free choices are available.
We are fully licensed and serve red and white wines, champagne and beer. As well as our extensive range of River Tea blends and our coffees, our fridge is stocked with Emma and Tome's Life Juice, Springleaf and Organic Phoenix drinks.
