The Cottage and its setting

Blue Wren is a romantic getaway for two in a beautiful chalet style building, situated in an idyllic rural setting on a 700 acre Angus stud cattle farm, The Pines Pastoral. The property was once owned by the Moss family of Moss Vale.

Sit back and enjoy the sweeping rural views from either the private timber deck or through the towering window. The views take in the age old trees dotted throughout the surrounding steep valley. Immediately you arrive you will notice the peace and quiet.

The Interior

The atmosphere of the Blue Wren is one of modern country charm. The kitchen is built using recycled oregon timber and the handcrafted country dining table is made from red box.

Enjoy the warm ambience of the crackling winter fire (all wood provided) or create a feast in the open plan kitchen, with its Smeg oven.

The king bed (with electric blanket and doona) is on the mezzanine level at the top of a spiral staircase.

The charm of the Blue Wren continues into the modern bathroom, with towels kept warm on the electric towel racks.

Indulge yourself in the luxurious cedar lined dry Scandinavian sauna.

A Bosch washing machine is also available, along with ironing facilities.

Local Attractions

Blue Wren Cottage is close to all the wonderful villages of the Southern Highlands. It is five minutes from Moss Vale - visit the many antique shops, restaurants, cafes, gift, food & craft shops & nursery. Other quaint villages include Bundanoon, Bowral, Berrima, Fitzroy Falls, Burrawang and Robertson.

A stay at Blue Wren Cottage is a must for bushwalkers, birdwatchers, photographers and nature lovers. There are many lovely walks, on the Pines Pastoral, in nearby Morton National Park and in the local district. These include walks to the spectacular Carrington and Fitzroy Falls - watch the lyre birds & many other native birds and animals. There are also several local cool climate vineyards, with tours & tastings.

Location

Blue Wren Cottage is ideally located in a beautiful area of the picturesque Southern Highlands. It is only 1.5 hours from Sydney, 2 hours from Canberra, 30 minutes from the coast (Kiama) and 45 minutes from Wollongong.
