Description
Sugar Glider Cottage and its setting
The original farm building has been turned into a delightful, secluded, cosy cottage tailored for two, with luxurious modern conveniences. Sugar Glider is the ideal getaway for a couple seeking a peaceful escape close to nature. Perched on top of a small ridge accessed only by your own private road, the cottage is surrounded by acres of beautiful hills and valleys.The Interior
The lounge is facing north, with French doors opening onto the lawn and the view over the rolling hills is breathtaking. Relax in front of a homely slow combustion log fire (wood supplied). The separate dining room, which also has French doors opening onto the countryside, is entered through a beautiful, heavy original farm door painted in glossy black. The dining table and the side table are in spotted gum and crows ash, both made by local craftspeople.Sugar Glider has its own kitchen. The kitchen features recycled oregon timber and quality European appliances, including a Smeg oven and cooktop, and an integrated Liebherr refrigerator. All utensils and tableware, as well as tea and coffee making facilities are supplied. Provisions are available from supermarkets, specialty food stores and takeaways in nearby Moss Vale or Bowral. A gas BBQ is provided and the outdoor red box table is ideal for breakfast or brunch.
A generously sized bedroom has a king bed with doona and electric blanket, with french doors opening onto the views of the rolling green hills. All linen is supplied.
The bathroom (also in recycled oregon timber) has not only a shower, a vanity and a hairdryer, but also an electric towel drying rack. There is a separate WC.
A TV, video and CD player are provided. A phone allows you to make local calls or to answer an incoming call. The cottage has electric heating in addition to the wood burning combustion heater. The bathroom contains a washing/drying machine. The cottage also has ironing facilities.
Local Attractions
Sugar Glyder Cottage is close to all the wonderful villages of the Southern Highlands. It is five minutes from Moss Vale - visit the many antique shops, restaurants, cafes, gift, food & craft shops & nursery. Other quaint villages include Bundanoon, Bowral, Berrima, Fitzroy Falls, Burrawang and Robertson.A stay at Suger Glider Cottage is a must for bushwalkers, birdwatchers, photographers and nature lovers. There are many lovely walks, on the Pines Pastoral, in nearby Morton National Park and in the local district. These include walks to the spectacular Carrington and Fitzroy Falls - watch the lyre birds & many other native birds and animals. Details of locals’ favourite walks can be found in each cottage and on The Pines Pastoral website.
There are also several local cool climate vineyards, with tours & tastings.
