The Pines Pastoral

The Pines Pastoral offers a unique collection of five self-contained, romantic cottages, each with its own history and character. These luxury cottages are ideal for relaxing, unwinding and enjoying the peace of the country, the magnificent Australian bush setting and the pleasure of time with family and friends. Each of the five cottages has its own layout, but all are beautifully decorated and equipped with modern conveniences to make your stay the ultimate in comfort. We also cater for conferences and weddings.

The Cottages

Sugarglider, Platypus, Possums, Brown Thornbill or Blue Wren are ideal getaways for couples or groups seeking a quiet and private escape. Each cottage is perched on top of a small ridge and all are surrounded by acres of rolling hills and green valleys.

Sugar Glider, Platypus, Blue Wren and Brown Thornbill are perfect for single couples, while the Possums has two bedrooms and can accommodate up to 4 people.

The original farm buildings have been turned into charming and luxurious self-contained cottages, just perfect for a special short stay. Platypus Cottage is the old brick dairy. The historic flavour of the building has been maintained, with the oddly positioned windows remaining in their original position.

Possum Cottage is a beautifully restored turn of the century farmhouse providing a romantic getaway for one or two couples.

The Brown Thornbill is a self-contained retreat (historic Canadian army building) in a semi circular structure. With its soaring ceiling and timber mezzanine, it has an amazing feeling of volume. Once again, The Brown Thornbill provides a romantic escape for a couple.

The Blue Wren is a delightful, romantic, luxury escape for the young or young at heart. Go to sleep on the mezzanine level overlooking the fire and wake to the stunning country views and sunrise.

Local Attractions

The Pines Pastoral is close to all the wonderful villages of the Southern Highlands. It is five minutes from Moss Vale - visit the many antique shops, restaurants, cafes, gift, food & craft shops & nursery. Other quaint villages include Bundanoon, Bowral, Berrima, Fitzroy Falls, Burrawang and Robertson.

A stay at The Pines Pastoral is a must for bushwalkers, birdwatchers, photographers and nature lovers. There are many lovely walks, on the Pines Pastoral, in nearby Morton National Park and in the local district. These include walks to the spectacular Carrington and Fitzroy Falls - watch the lyre birds & many other native birds and animals. The 5 cottages are ideally located in a beautiful area of the picturesque Southern Highlands. The Pines Pastoral is only 1.5 hours from Sydney, 2 hours from Canberra, 30 minutes from the coast (Kiama) and 45 minutes from Wollongong.
