Itinerary
Day 1: Brisbane or Gold Coast to Fraser Island (Lunch and dinner provided)Travelling north from Brisbane we pass the Glass House Mountains and Sunshine Coast before arriving at Rainbow Beach. From Rainbow Beach we take the 4WD on to the beach to meet our ferry at Inskip Point, where a short Ferry ride will take us to the southern tip of Fraser Island.
Upon arrival at Fraser Island, we head for Seventy Five Mile Beach and find ourselves a nice spot to enjoy a fresh picnic lunch. Travelling north up the eastern beach of Fraser Island we head for Eli Creek. Eli Creek is a fast flowing fresh water stream. Take the beautiful board walk to the top of the creek and let yourself relax and float down this picturesque stream.
Your next stop is Lake Wabby. We park our 4WD at the start of the 20 min walking track which takes us through lush coastal heath and thick eucalypt forest. This takes us to the deepest lake on Fraser Island, the famous Lake Wabby. The return walk goes through the Hammerstone Sandblow.
At the end of the day we travel to Eurong Beach Resort to check into our accommodation and enjoy a buffet dinner in the Resort Restaurant.
