Merrijig Lodge

Merrijig Lodge is set on extensive native grounds on a 10 acre farm on the banks of the Delatite River and operates all year round. It consists of two main buildings, the sleeping area and the entertainment area which are inter-connected by a covered stairway. Merrijig Lodge has 12 rooms each containing 2 bunks (4 single beds) and 2 ensuite rooms each containing a double bed bunk, giving us total capacity of 52 people.

In addition to a fully equipped commercial kitchen(with stove, oven, microwave, large toaster, commercial size cool room and large freezer), the downstairs area contains a large carpeted lounge/dinning room with central heating and a wood fire and can seat 60 people. There is also a separate TV/reading room and a games room. The games room offers the choice of a table tennis table or a pool table. All these rooms can be used during the day for lessons and discussions. If extra space is required, more is available for hire at a small fee.

Merrijig Lodge specialises in group bookings for all kinds of clubs, organizations and mutual interest groups.

In summer, with the region's magnificent weather, the Lodge is a favourite for groups wanting to sit around the pool, or enjoying some of the many activities the area has to offer. Wineries are a major attraction in the region, with more than 50 open for tastings, cellar door sales and great dining.

In winter, being only 15 kms from the base of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling, the Lodge is a great base for a skiing holiday. Getting together round the fire is a favourie winter evening passtime of many groups.

We are located opposite the infamous Hunt Club Hotel.

Catering

Merrijig Lodge offers either fully catered or self catered packages. For those who choose to do their own catering, as noted above, we have a full commercial kitchen as well as a large cool room.

For those who choose to sit back and relax while we take care of the meals, our resident cook prepares wholesome quality meals with energetic youngsters in mind. We offer the choice of a continental or cooked breakfast, or the very hungry can enjoy both. The evening meal is a 2 course dinner for example, a casserole, pasta or BBQ, followed by homemade desert. We provide homemade cakes and biscuits for supper. We can supply lunches by prior arrangement or, during winter, our guests can use the lunch voucher system on Mt Buller. We cater for special dietary requirements by prior arrangement. Merrijig Lodge offers 24 hour - self serve tea, coffee and Milo for B&B customers.
