Description
The Ski Museum
The Ski Museum celebrates the rich, diverse and dynamic heritage of snow sports. On display is an interesting collection of snow sports equipment, photography, literature, clothing, trophies - all fascinating items from the 1890's to the present.
The Ski Museum provides an understanding of the historical context of snow sports and its social and economic integration, and development in Thredbo and the Australian Snowy Mountains;
Promotes through its archival information, education and entertainment;
Displays a selection of memorabilia, equipment, photos and documents that form Australian snow sports history.
Caters for a statistical recording of 2,000 visitors annually;
Offers free admission although a gold coin donations towards the upkeep of this voluntary facility is greatly appreciated; Location
The museum is located at the Valley Terminal in Thredbo to the left of the steps leading to the Kosciuszko Express chairlift. The Collection
The collection contains:
Skis, boots, clothing, bindings, books, ski magazines, trophies, images and videos, oral histories, letters, newspaper clippings and editorial, an original Crackenback chairlift seat, and a seat from the Charlotte Pass to Alpine Way chairlift;
Items that are a wonderful research and reference resource.
Donated acquisitions that have developed into a collection consisting of ephemera and literature of snow sports and the history for the Thredbo region.

Provides social activities for members
