Description
Cairns Day Out - Kuranda and Helicopter Flight to Barrier Reef
Departing from Cairns, you will relax on the Kuranda Scenic Train, as you listen to commentary explaining the history of Cairns and the surrounding towns. Have your camera ready to take photographs as the train winds its way around Horseshoe Bend and past Stoney Creek Falls and Barron Falls. The train will stop at a viewing point of the Barron Gorge, giving you the opportunity to take the perfect photo, before travelling on towards Kuranda.After the train ride you will have time to stroll through the famous Kuranda Markets and village. The markets offer local arts and crafts for you to view or purchase and within the area, there are cafes if you fancy a snack or delicious fruit smoothie!
After your free time, you will ride the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Once again, this is a great opportunity to take photos as you glide over the rainforest canopy and descend, taking in views of Cairns' brilliant coastline.
From lush tropical rainforest to the crystal clear waters of the Great Barrier Reef, you will be transferred to the helicopter pad for your spectacular 30 minute helicopter flight to the Outer Reefs of the Great Barrier Reef. The flight lands on a heli pontoon at Hastings Reef.
From the pontoon, you will be transferred to the high speed boat, where you will indulge in a delicious Tropical lunch (vegetarians catered for). After lunch you have over two hours to snorkel and swim.
Relax and enjoy the live entertainment onboard this luxury vessel as it departs the reef and sails towards Cairns. Upon arrival at Cairns, you will be transferred to your accommodation.
Additional Information about the Tour
The price covers the Kuranda Historical Scenic Train, the Skyrail CablewayReef Helicopter Flight, lunch and afternoon Tea, guided snorkeling tour and equipment and the one way cruise on Osprey V. An Environmental Management Charge (Reef Tax) of AUD$10.00 per person is not included, nor is the cost of introductory or certified diving.
A maximum of 6 passengers is permitted per helicopter.
