Where the river meets the sea - Barwon Heads Caravan Park is a perfect spot to stay and enjoy great views and great camping facilities. Every beach house, cabin or camping site is within a short walk of the water.
The Barwon River’s long and meandering course comes to an end at the village of Barwon Heads, where it empties into Bass Strait. Barwon Heads township, with its ever increasing number restaurants and shops, is also within walking distance of the Barwon Heads Caravan Park. The relaxed pace and casual atmosphere of Barwon Heads makes it the perfect holiday destination.
For fans of the popular ABC TV series, 'Sea Change', you may want to stay in Laura's Cottage, one of the iconic places featured in the series.
There is also the famous jetty, and the historic and much-loved bridge. The Barwon Coast combines a broad estuary system, fragile dunes and long beaches, producing a landscape of high environmental and conservation value. It povides a wonderful environment for recreation, with its natural beauty and rich cultural and historic heritage. The wide and picturesque Barwon River is used for many water-based activities throughout the year. There are superb surf beaches, in particular, Thirteenth Beach, as well as beaches along the Barwon River that are safer for young families. There are also many great fishing spots to be enjoyed.
Snorkelling and diving are also popular on the Bellarine Peninsula and there are excellent golf courses.
